ROYSE is a pop singer based in Los Angeles, CA; an artist who can pull from the deep undercurrents to create songs that hit people in the heart with full force. Her biggest weapon is her ability to explore darkness in order to get to the light; she can openly sing about having a bad day, but somehow she has the ability to turn it around into something entirely positive, encouraging and inspiring. She sounds just like the kind of inspiring, insightful artist we love! Time for a Take 5…
When did you realise that you wanted to be a pop singer? What or who has inspired you ?
I think I always knew! Ive always wanted to sing! Katy Perry has always been someone who has inspired me! I love how she is fun inspiring and unapologetically herself.
Who, living or dead, would you dream of collaborating with?
Wow there’s so many! Freddie Mercury is Iconic, and I think to do anything with him would have been insane, and I can’t even begin to fathom. Now alive, I think I would chose Drake! I love Drake
Tell us about your latest single ‘ If I Loved You ’– what is the song about?
Love is so big- It’s hard to put into words, and this song was my attempt to put it into words. I was inspired by this idea when I was working. I met a guy that I had a deep connection with, but I’ve always been closed off to love. And this inspired me to think, What if I actually did let down those walls and let love in? So I wrote this song.
You are based in LA. Tell us five things you love about the city and why……
- I love my church! I go to Fearless LA and let me tell you its amazing! It’s church in a night club!
- I love that I can go on so many beautiful hiking trails.
- I love the ocean and being so close to it.
- The food in LA is so so so good!
- I love all the dogs! Everyone has a dog and they’re so cute! Sometime when I’m on the street I feel like its the dog show and it makes my heart leap for joy.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
Releasing more music and going on tour. AS well as growing! I always get excited for what the year is going to bring me and how I can grow each day.
