Boomtown 2018 opened with a bang with tickets selling out with 6 months still to go to the festival. The hype and community built around the festival in recent years has been immense. With many of the stages now announced, here’s a taste of what people can look forward to.
The first act announced for this year’s Boomtown, Gorillaz was a statement of intent. This announcement was quickly followed by Limp Bizkit, these two acts seemed unusual choices at first for Boomtown. However, with new stage Disorder Alley, focussing on metal and hard-core, Boomtown is keen to expand their story’s mythology and music on offer.
Barrio Loco stage seems in top form this year showcasing UK Hip-hop, Grime and Garage. Leading the charge of the line-up is UK Grime artist Ghetts, who’ll be supported by a strong female grime contingent in the form of Nadia Rose and Lady Lehurr.
Representing UK Garage, are Zed Bias and Oneman who promise to keep the crowd moving with their bouncy broken beats. All of this will be curated by the Bassline Circus, who’ll be taking care of the visuals, adding some street dancing and break dancing flair to proceedings.
With much announced and more to follow this year’s edition is shaping up to be a cracker.
