If the thought of sandy beaches, riding the waves and some of the biggest music acts playing live wasn’t enough to tempt you, Boardmasters have added a host of new acts to their line up to entice you to come down and enjoy the South of England sunshine. (Sunshine not guaranteed).
The festival has already announced huge headliners Jamiroquai, Two Door Cinema Club and Alt-J but it’s the gift that keeps on giving as they announced today they will be joined by Idris Elba, Wretch 32, DJ Armand Van Helden along with a whole host of others.

Most notable for his roles in film and TV, Idris Elba has shown he’s a man of many talents and has earned a great deal of respect as a DJ, and will be bringing his tunes to the Cornish coast. New York City native and Grammy award nominated DJ Armand Van Helden has had a career spanning 27 years and in that time has shown his full range of versatility having worked with artists such as Dizzee Rascal and The Rolling Stones. British rapper Wretch 32’s music has been highly praised across the music world from artists and critics alike, having released 3 studio albums with his latest ‘Growing Over Life’ released in 2016.
The festival has been pairing music and surfing since 1981 giving a platform for a diverse range of music as well as showcasing some the skills of some of the best surfers in the world.
It takes place at Watergate Bay, Newquay over a five day period starting on Wednesday 9th August and ending on Sunday 13th August.
