Yesterday marked the day that the feed of @HopeAndGloryfes combusted into a beautiful spectrum of reds, oranges and pale blues. What was the cause of such an outburst of re-tweets and likes? The announcement of more brilliant bands to fill the festivals line up of course! These guys really aren’t messing about. Having teased at a few more acts yesterday morning, it seems most expectations were more than surpassed and on so many levels.
Where to start? It’s not quite America, but what a drag it’d be to be there whilst such a star studded line up was congregating in Liverpool this summer. Razorlight are one of the many new names to join in the fun alongside fellow 00’s Indie outfit The View; who may need to pack a spare pair of jeans for this awesome weekend. Badly Drawn Boy, Public Service Broadcasting, Embrace, The Pigeon Detectives the list goes on!

Alongside a generous helping of musical talent almost too large to count is also a miscellaneous selection of different kinds of entertainment. As well as performances from the ladies; the gathering crowds will also be treated to the lovely Charlotte Church and Lucy Spraggan in conversation respectively. Also: air guitar competitions, a football legends charity darts match and according to the quaint announcement video ‘many more weird and wonderful happenings.’
Local legends The Lightning Seeds will be sure to have the crowds up and feeling loose with their alternative Britpop vibes. And the Britpop doesn’t stop there! Brummy lads Ocean Colour Scene will be swanning up the river Mersey with their ‘Riverboat Song’ in full swing. Whilst Manchester heroes James will be joining the gig to help the Hacienda Classicals symphony ‘sit down in sympathy’. Who knows the rest St. Johns gardens may take a seat too, god knows they’ll need it after this news!
