The second Reading and Leeds Festival headliner has been announced in the form of Kasabian. The world-dominating indie outfit from Leicestershire will return to the festival which they last headlined in 2012. After a year out recording their next album, which is expected to be out at some point this year, the band will appear at the festival as a UK exclusive. They have been announced as headliners elsewhere across Europe such as Benicàssim festival in Spain and Sziget Festival in Hungary.

Kasabian were the favourites of many people to headline the Reading and Leeds, which would be their first UK festival appearance since headlining T in the Park in 2015. A flurry of other acts have also been announced in coalition with Kasabian such as Two Door Cinema Club, Circa Waves and Fatboy Slim. Speaking to the NME, lead guitarist and songwriter Serge Pizzorno waxed lyrical of his delight of headlining the festival, referencing their first appearance to their first headline slot. “When we played there in 2012 it was such a special honour because it was the first time we’d headlined a major festival”, going onto say that the band would bring “last day on Earth vibes” to Bramham Park and Richfield Avenue.
Reading and Leeds Festival will take place on the August Bank Holiday weekend of the 25th to the 27th of August 2017.
