GIGsoup spoke to the artist about LeeFest and her 2016 to date…
LeeFest certainly offers something a little different on the Festival calendar. How does it feel to be part of the ‘from garden’ to ‘award winning’ journey?
My journey of busking to performing across the world on tour is a similar one so it’s amazing to be part of a festival that has grown organically like this! I’m really looking forward to seeing Lianne La Havas play too, I have been a fan of her for a long time!
We’re crawling steadily to the mid-point of 2016. How’s it been so far? Any highlights?
A huge highlight for me was performing to over 5000 people at London’s Brixton o2 Academy just last week – this was such an amazing gig for me because of how positively people reacted to my new original songs, and the venue itself is epic. Touring with Jeremy Loops across Europe earlier in the year was fantastic too, travelling and performing live in different cities is definitely my favourite part of being a musician.
