With LeeFest just 1 week away GIGsoup are taking a look at some of the artists we think you should check out at this years gathering.
Today we take a look at London trio ‘Skinny Girl Diet’ and their brash, unapologetic brand of punk. Often compared to the riot grrrl movement of the 90’s the band featured on Billboard.com’s list of “20 All-Female Bands You Need To Know” and continue to stand at the forefront of feminist punk.
With a series of EP and single releases to their name (please check out 2015’s ‘Reclaim Your Life’ EP – awesome doesn’t even come close) the band are now set two release their first LP ‘Heavyflow’ in September. We spoke to Ursula, Delilah and Amelia about their forthcoming LeeFest appearance…
LeeFest certainly offers something a little different on the Festival calendar. How does it feel to be part of the ‘from garden’ to ‘award winning’ journey?
It’s awesome how stuff can escalate.
We’re crawling steadily to the mid-point of 2016. How’s it been so far? Any highlights?
Pretty Good, We’ve been recording new music, which is going to be available very soon, and playing loads of gigs including visiting Oslo and Valencia
