April 24th sees the release of Massive Wagon’ new single ‘Back to The Stack’ in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust and there’s a fun game you can play with your friends – Quo Bingo. After the sad passing of Status Quo’s founding member Rick Parfitt last year this track is an homage to the great man and the track is full of lyrical and musical references to the group. Every time someone in your group spots a reference to ‘the Quo’ its shots all round, sound fun? GIGsoup will be playing ‘Quo Bingo’ when Massive Wagons play Camden Rocks in June, here’s what they think about Camden.
When did your relationship with Camden start?
Camden was the first place in the London I visited, it’s no sleep reputation is legendary, and true as it turns out!
Have you played in Camden before?
Yes, two headline shows at The Black Heart, once at Proud Galleries and Dublin Castle, we supported The Von Hertzen Brothers at The Underworld. The first time we played was The Fiddlers Elbow back in 2013.

What was your reaction when you knew you would be playing there this year?
We were well pleased, especially when it’s such a strong line-up.
Who are you looking forward to seeing?
We have toured with The Wildhearts recently, and another of Ginger Wildhearts projects ‘Hey Hello’ are playing, they are awesome. So are our label mates in ‘Screaming Eagles’.
Have you been to Camden Market, what did you buy?
Yeah I try to buy a new tee every time I go, I got a cool Bowie vest once, I wear when we perform.
Which Camden venue is the best to play at?
Of the venues we played, I liked The Underworld most. It’s got a nice big stage and a really cool dark and dingy vibe, which suits us haha.
Camden used to be an area full of piano makers do you know any Camden trivia?
Apparently the Proud Galleries was once a hospital for sick horses, with the main stage room the operating theatre. It is a unique venue.
Why should I as a gig goer make an effort to see you guys at Camden this year?
Our live show is very rowdy, lots of booze and lots of fun. We are playing fairly early I believe at the ‘Be At One’ cocktail bar, which is not our usual setting but we think it’s cool to bring our noise to somewhere different, it’s what festivals like this are all about! However you like your music, we are the band for you.
If you like your whiskey straight, your men hairy and your rock music loud, fun and a little on the metal (mental?) side, Massive Wagons may well be your jam. See for yourself at Camden Rocks, tickets HERE
