A fuzzed up riot of sixties infused indie rock, White Room have played with the Modfather himself and they really like Bang Bang Chicken, they’re at Camden Rocks Festival this year so it’s almost compulsory they talk to us about it.
When did your relationship with Camden start?
I’m not sure really.. I guess seeing as I grew up in Brighton, and we often went up to London, I’m sure toddler Jake had some interesting experiences with Camden.
Have you played in Camden before?
We’ve played a few times now actually. Most memorable of which would probably be Dingwalls supporting Weller.

What was your reaction when you knew you would be playing there this year?
Well Camden is always a good area to play so we’ve been looking forward to it a lot. The audience is up for it and after we played Camden Rocks a couple years back it’s great to be back on the line up.
From the announcement of bands so far who are you looking forward to seeing and who would you hope may yet make it on?
I’d love to see our mates from Brighton, The Ferns, on the line up. They put on a really special live show so I’d recommend to anyone and everyone to check them out.
I’m looking forward to catching Broken Witt Rebels and The Blinders, and then just charging around catching as much as I can really.. that’s the plan.
Have you been to Camden Market, what did you buy?
BANG BANG CHICKEN. No more. No less.
Which Camden venue is the best to play at?
Well like I said before, Dingwalls was incredible. Also Barfly has a great sound from what I can remember. Oh and Proud, where the Camden Rocks show case was held, that was a great space.
Camden Starbucks used to be the Lock-keeper’s lodge, do you know any Camden trivia?
I know that it’s the land of Bang Bang Chicken.
Why should I as a gig goer make an effort to see you guys at Camden this year?
Well, we’ve got our new release lined up and a lot of the set list will be incorporating tracks from that, which is very exciting for us and so should be exciting for you too. Also if you want to see a great live show that’s something we can promise.
If you want to find out what ‘toddler Jake’ got up to in Camden you’ll have to ask him in person, you can find them at Camden Rocks Festival at 8pm at Winnicott, tickets are still available http://www.camdenrocksfestival.com/tickets
