Three piece pop rock band Banfi are newbies to Dot To Dot, but don’t let that phase you as these lads are sure to put on one hell of a show over the festival weekend. The London based trio have just released the video for their new single ‘Rosedale House’ following on from their debut ‘Happy When You Go’. From what we’ve heard so far, we can only expect the band to get bigger and better as the months roll through.
‘Rosedale House’ brings a fresh sound into the pop rock genre, with beautiful melodies, fuzzy rock riffs and electric synths creating the perfect background for frontman Joe Banfi’s stunning vocals. Having just finished a support slot with Bears Den, the band are gearing up for a summer full of festivals leading on to their first ever headline tour in September. We got to chat with Banfi about the Rosedale House video, Somersault festival and of course their slot at D2D.
Have you played D2D before and how are you feeling about performing there?
We’ve not played Dot To Dot before, but we are really looking forward to performing in some of our favourite cities in the UK three days in a row and with a bunch of other brilliant acts!

Which city are you most looking forward to playing? (Manchester, Bristol, Nottingham)
I’m going to be very diplomatic and say that we couldn’t possibly pick one out of the three because they’re all so great!
From the initial line up, who are you most excited to see?
We’ve played with Amber Run in London before and those guys are great and lovely guys too. We’re also looking forward to The Growlers! We’ve been listening to those guys for a few years and it’s amazing how far they’ve come in the last year or so.
You’ve just released the video for your new single ‘Rosedale House’, do you have any memorable moments from filming?
One of the best moments of the day (because we just drove around for 14 hours in one day!) was when we got to watch the incredible sunset down in Dungeness (one of our favourite places and where we shot a bunch of promo shots) from the incredible 80’s BMW convertible we hired for the video.
This is one of the first festivals of the year, what was the first festival you went to?
The first festival we went to as a band was Somersault in 2015. It was a pretty intense experience…it absolutely poured with rain. There were tractors pulling cars out of the car park. We had to Ace Ventura style skid in to our parking spot and get on with the show in the pouring rain.
If you had to choose one city to stay in for the rest of your life, what would it be?
We’d love to say somewhere really exotic and cool, but we do really love London. We have lots of friends there who are all doing really exciting things and it feels like there’s a lot going on all the time.
Maybe at some point in the future it would be nice to move somewhere else, but for now we’re happy where we are.
What can we expect from you in the next few months?
We’re just finishing off a tour with Bears Den which has been really great and cool to get out to some places we haven’t been before.
We’ve got a load of festivals lined up for the summer, as well as hopefully releasing some more music. Then in September we head out on our first headline tour of the UK which is super exciting!
Why should fans make the effort to catch your set?
People should come and watch our set if they want to get a bit lively and have a sing a long at the same time. We’re really trying to make each show better than the last, so by the time Dot To Dot comes around we should be flying 😉
