With only a week to go until Dot To Dot festival kicks off in Manchester, we here at GIGsoup managed to grab a quick chat with Easy Life’s Sam ahead of their performance.
The quartet are having a brilliant year so far; having played at various festivals such as 2Q, Splendour, and Handmade, they’ve just been announced for Y Not and will be playing D2D at the end of this month. The debut EP is also in the works and should be ready for our ears in the coming months, with all of this in mind you can expect to be hearing a lot more from the Leicester based band this summer!

Have you played D2D before and how are you feeling about performing there?
No we haven’t and we’re absolutely gassed we get to play the 3 cities.
Which city are you most looking forward to playing? (Manchester, Bristol, Nottingham)
Not sure, they’re all great places to play. Bristol has the Crepe and Coffee Cabin though, which will change your life.
From the initial line up, who are you most excited to see?
Cosmo Pyke, Honeyblood and The Growlers. Especially Cosmo, he’s really good.
This is one of the first festivals of the year, what was the first festival you went to?
Y Not Festival all the way back in 2011, dutty teenage times.
If you had to choose one city to stay in for the rest of your life, what would it be?
What can we expect from you in the next few months?
We’ve got new music coming at you real soon, just finishing off a load of recordings at the moment for an EP. After that, hopefully a couple of cool collabs and perhaps world fame?
Why should fans make the effort to catch your set?
We love doing what we do and we love producing grooves for people to get down to. If you’re a fan of big beats, melodic basslines and sax solos, we’ll see you there!
