In their journey so far, FAULKNER have achieved some pretty big things. From collaborating with Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA to then having that track ‘NY Anthem’ adopted by the New York Yankees to be played at their home games, the band haven’t hit the ground since the release of that track. Now preparing for the release of their debut album, GIGsoup caught up with the bi-coastal rockers to see how things are going…

What’s the story behind FAULKNER, how did you get together to create music?

We all met in the L.A music scene sometime in 2013. We were all in different projects but once we started playing together it felt great and made perfect sense to keep doing it.

What was it like working with RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan on the track ‘NY Anthem’?

It was an amazing experience. He is one of the most intelligent and talented people we’ve ever met. His production fit the song perfectly and his verse is incredible.

How’s the progress on your album going?

It’s finished. Will be released soon.

You’ve mentioned that you’ve got some surprise collaborations yet to come, are you able to give any hints?

“Keep Your Enemies Closer”with Royce Da 5’9” is out now. We couldn’t be happier with how this collaboration turned out. Royce is one of the best to ever do it.

What’s your favourite track on the album?

They’re all our favourites.

What are you most excited for regarding your music?

The energy put into it and the energy stemming from it.
