You may recognise the bellowing vocals of Tom Grennan from his feature on the Chase and Status hit ‘All goes wrong’, but the soulful singer-songwriter from Bedford is on the brink of something very special, and is turning heads through his solo success.

His new EP ‘Release The Brakes’ is set for release this Friday and Pre-Sale tickets for his show at the iconic KOKO venue in Camden have gone on sale this week as well as 2017 looks set to be a huge year for Grennan. An appearance at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton this year will do no harm in fuelling his rise as it continues to showcase some of the best new musical talent across the globe.

What do you know about the festival?

I know that it’s in Brighton and that it’s all over different venues.

What can we expect from your set at The Great Escape?

Real, fiery, passionate high energy performance and music.

What do you know about the other acts playing this year and who would you like to check out?

I’d like to see rag and bone man live and specially being in his home town I reckon it’s gonna pop off.

What is the best thing about Brighton? / Have you been to Brighton before?

I think it’s a very diverse place with a lot going on. Yeah course I’ve been to Brighton before every time I come Brighton though it seems to get well out of control and always messy!

What were you doing this time last year?

This time last year I’d just signed a record deal!

When you go to the Beach what can you not go without? Sunglasses, Pennies for the slot machines? A Ball of some sort?

Socks!

What is the best seaside holiday you’ve been on?

Umm.. if we’re talking outside of England then probably when I was well young I went to Myrtle beach in America.

What’s your favourite thing to get from the Ice Cream Van?

Mint feast all day!

What are your plans for the rest of the Summer?

Festivals and a lot of hard work!!! Maybe a little week off somewhere nice but right now my focus is festivals and my work.

Tickets are still available for the festival, but are selling quickly so grab them while you can. Visit www.greatescapefestival.com for more info.
