Can you talk to us about the inspiration for your latest single ‘Middle Of The Morning’?
Middle of the Morning was inspired by the grace and kindness of a close friend, its aim is to express gratitude and state the desire to be a similar figure of solace in the life of that friend.
How has your community contributed to your success?
Our community has always given us excellent opportunities to share our work as well as many gifted friends and collaborators. Feeling nothing but gratitude.
What advice would you give other musicians?
Collaborate, Try your best to finish what you start, Just have fun with it.
Describe to our audience your music-making process.
A bunch of the songs will start in the studio with a rhythm or synth texture, if there is something groovey going on some vocals will creep in. The rest gets built out by the band or in the studio and changes quite a few times before a “song” is formed.
How did it feel when you released your debut single?
It’s always exciting to share what we’ve been working on. It is also a little terrifying not knowing how things will be received. However you eventually learn to trust your gut and take everything with a grain of salt.
If you could collaborate with any musician/band, who would it be? And why?
It would be a dream to collaborate with Dev Hynes, his openness to working alongside his peers is very inspiring to me, also his voice is super silky.
What first got you interested into music?
My Mom is pretty musical, she is a self taught piano player and writes some pretty lovely tunes. She played a pretty big part in my initial interest in music.
