Singer – songwriter and multi- instrumentalist, æmma, is set to release a debut single on the fledgling LGM Records in August 2018.
‘House Of Hym’ was self produced in London over the last few months and is beautifully crafted dark pop that’s both deeply unsettling and truly magical. Available digitally at the usual major outlets, the track is the first indication of what to expect from the forthcoming debut album.
Thou now London based, æmma was born and raised in the remote and bleak yet inspirational wilderness of Dartmoor. The multi – talented classically trained composer is a bold, songwriting visionary that evokes the sound of Fiona Apple, PJ Harvey’s ‘White Chalk’ album and early Goldfrapp meets LA native Julia Holter. A sense of magic, romance and wonder is created through complex haunting melodies and arrangements, brought together by powerful cerebral lyrics that encourage sensitivity, romance and vulnerability in a society that often celebrates the opposite.
æmma is set to bring her songs to life at a one off headline show at Bush Hall in Shepherd’s Bush on the 24th October 2018, accompanied on grand piano by a string quartet, a female choir, driving beats and synths.
London based imprint LGM Records was officially launched at a sell-out event in Soho on the 27th of March 2017. Now home to a roster of talent such as 2018’s breakthrough act Amaroun, indie legends Goldheart Assembly and Steve Lamaq favourites Mono Club (feat. Lyla Foy), they are set to announce further new signings and live nights in the very near future.
