Future Islands have announced ‘The Far Field’ the follow up to their 2014 album ‘Singles’.

Although ‘Singles’ was the bands fourth album it was somewhat of a breakthrough record for the synth-pop band due to the popularity of the lead single ‘Seasons’ and Samuel T. Herring’s endlessly watchable dance moves.

To mark the announcement the trio released the first single from the new album, ‘Ran’. It sees the Baltimore band return to the combina dreamy synths and driving melodic bass backing Herring’s unique voice that brought them so much recognition.

The new album is set for release on April 7th and promises twelve chest-pounding love songs and odes to the road including a guest feature from Blondie’s Debbie Harry.

The band are also set to tour the UK in support of the album.
