Green Day have bagged themselves a couple of living London legends to support them at their British Summer Time show in Hyde Park. Punk icons The Damned and The Stranglers will join a bill that already boasts fellow punk legends Rancid in addition to The Hives, Gogol Bordello, The Living End, Beach Slang, SWMRS, Sunflower Bean and Public Access TV plus extra new addees The Orwells, Bash & Pop and Jesse Malin.

The Damned recently celebrated 40 years of smashing it up at London’s Royal Albert Hall in London, while The Stranglers continue to pursue the incessant touring schedule they began back in 1974. Their presence at the July 1st bash serve to denote it as the ‘punk’ installment in British Summer Time’s musically eclectic series, which will include a variety of day festivals headlined by Phil Collins (30th June), Justin Bieber (2nd June), Kings of Leon (6th July), The Killers (8th July), and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (9th July).
