To celebrate the release of his fantastic new album, Blair Jollands will be performing at the Sebright Arms in London. Jollands will take to the stage on Thursday 13th September alongside multi-instrumentalist Delaney Davidson.
Having won the admiration of both David Bowie and Boy George, Jollands’ compositions are cinematic and compelling. Following the release of several 5-star rated albums under the pseudonym, ‘El Hula,’ he decided to travel the world. From Shanghai to Sydney and Bali to Berlin, Jollands exhales the magical sinews of his travels onto his new record.
As a velvet dressed crooner, with a lush baritone, Blair is often compared to fine artists such as Nick Cave and Rufus Wainwright. Furthermore, including praise from the likes of NME, The Guardian, UNCUT, and more, Blair is also known for his recent successes in film and TV composition. These include the highly acclaimed movie, ‘Pride’ and award-winning film, ‘Shackleton.’
With the release of his fantastic, new album, ‘7 Blood, Blair Jollands finds a fresh groove and handles each song with the care and tenderness. His music communicates a paradoxical mix of melancholia as well as optimism that draws the listener in. Undoubtedly, Blair Jollands will be finding a comfortable position as New Zealand’s answer to Beck
