Pop-punk veterans Good Charlotte are up to something; if cryptic posts to the band’s Instagram account are to be believed.

At the time of writing, seven posts have been made to the Instagram account; featuring photographs from across the band’s lifespan. What sets the pictures apart, however, is that the face of each band member flickers to a rather ominous mask; reminiscent of a human skull.

As the band’s most recent album ‘Youth Authority’ was released back in summer 2016, this could be an allusion to a new album. However, in 2016, Benji Madden-one half of the twins at the core of Good Charlotte-stated “It was important for us to go out on our terms and it was really the whole point of this record and the next record. We are 37, I can’t see us doing Good Charlotte much passed 40. To be able to die happy and go I did it my way.”

Considering Benji, and his twin brother Joel, turn 40 in March 2019-could these posts also be pointing to the band’s imminent demise? Fans will be hopeful for further clarification sooner, rather than later.

Good Charlotte will play Slam Dunk Festival 2018, on the following dates:

Sat 26 May: Leeds City Centre

Sun 27 May: Hatfield Park

Mon 28 May: NEC Birmingham.

‘Youth Authority’ is out now via MDDN.
