Following February’s announcement that The Charlatans would headline the Saturday night at Coventry’s free Godiva Festival, further announcements have been made which will see The Boomtown Rats & Scouting For Girls headline the Friday & Sunday respectively.
Supporting Bob Geldof and his boys on the Friday will be Liverpool indie legends Space, whilst Sunday’s support slot goes to The Pigeon Detectives.
Indie stalwarts The Subways have been added to Saturday’s increasingly good line-up.
Sir Bob Geldof, lead singer of The Boomtown Rats, said: “In the same way Jagger defined the 60’s dream by releasing hundreds of butterflies in Hyde Park back in ’69, the Boomtown Rats will be releasing some wasps from a jar and distributing one-size-fits-all wimples at the Godiva Festival.”
The free festival, now in its 18th year, will run from July 1st to July 3rd at Coventry’s War Memorial Park and mixes established acts with some of the best up & coming local talent.
