Along with Drones, Paper Lanterns and Fireworks, Read and Leeds have banned Pineapples for this years (and beyond?) festivals!!
Que LOL’s…. however, the fruit has been added to the forbidden list due the band Glass Animals and their song ‘Pork Soda’, which features a lyric “pineapples are in my head”, and has previously inspired fans to bring the tropical fruit to gigs.
Glass Animals responded to the ban on Twitter, replaying: “yes good idea” to one fan who suggested wearing a pineapple costume.

When speaking to NME a spokesman for the band called it “ Fruitist”, saying “Watermelons are fine, but not pineapples?” and added that “anyone who wasn’t bringing a pineapple definitely is now.”
The band added: “It’s irresponsible to stop young people at a festival having vital vitamin P.”
Thier twitter account has become awash with puns and witty tweets after the BBC tweeted the news, which can only ever good for a free advertising! Visit their account here: https://twitter.com/GlassAnimals
