Tom Walker Coffee House Sessions tour continues to Bath, Central London, Midlands and the North
Set to captivate listeners with his innovative approach to alternative soul, the recent signee to Sony’s Relentless Records embarks on a set of intimate pop-up gigs in over 20 university and city centre venues across the country. The tour hosted by Coffee House Sessions has now supported more than 60 artists, delivering over 2,600 performances, including a number of Radio 1 playlisted artists.
Tom Walker was born in Scotland and raised in Manchester on his father’s extensive record collection, being drawn to artists like Ray Charles, The Police and Bob Marley. Regarded as ‘one to watch’ by many, the singer-songwriter has already crafted a remarkably soulful signature, blended with heavier beats and carefully thought-out, understated samples. Finding critical acclaim from tastemakers such as Pigeons & Planes, Clash, BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra and Beats1, the influencers are united in what they see as a major new talent.
Going for it’s fourth year Coffee House Sessions is regarded as a unique platform for up-and-coming artists to showcase their music to dedicated audiences.
It has played a pivotal part in building a spotlight for emerging new artists. Previous Coffee House Sessions’ artists include BRIT nominee Izzy Bizu, Ady Suleiman, The Shires and The Carnabys. Coffee House Sessions played a key role in Izzy Bizu’s rise to fame, who now has over 35 million plays on Spotify with single ‘White Tiger’.
The next few weeks are expected to be an important industry moment for Tom Walker, as he embarks on his Coffee House Sessions tour. His new single ‘ Play Dead’ was added to the Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist alongside the likes of The Weeknd, Mura Masa and Bon Iver.
