Brian Fallon, the Gaslight Anthem frontman, has announced that he will release his debut solo album early in 2016.

The album will be released through Virgin/EMI in the UK, and according to a press release, will be recorded in Nashville with producer Butch Walker. Walker has previously worked with the likes of Taylor Swift, Panic! At The Disco, Keith Urban and Frank Turner. Fallon is quoted as saying that he is ‘overjoyed to be making this solo record‘.

A US tour has also been announced, beginning in Portland on January 7th. He will play in a band with Gaslight Anthem guitarist Alex Rosamilia, Ian Perkins from his side project The Horrible Crowes, and bassist Catherine Popper from Molly & the Zombies. Fallon has said, ‘I can’t wait to go out on the road with the new songs I have as well as to get to play the ‘Elsie’ album (Horrible Crowes) live again!’

The Gaslight Anthem announced that they would be going on an indefinite hiatus after playing this year’s Reading Festival. Their last album ‘Get Hurt’ was released in 2014.

However, news of a solo album will be exciting for fans as this will be Fallon’s first solo project, and with a series of US dates already announced we await news of a world tour.
