A spokesperson for Liam Gallagher has confirmed that the latest Oasis reunion rumours are ‘totally unfounded’.

This comes after the Daily Star made the revelation in yesterday’s paper (Monday, 28 September) that the band were in ‘serious talks‘ about coming together for a series of arena shows. In the article, their source claims that ‘it’s only a matter of time‘ and that ‘it is looking so certain it is worth betting on for next year‘. The news travelled fast around social media yesterday, causing a great deal of excitement. However, when approached by NME, Liam Gallagher’s spokesperson has confirmed that the rumours are ‘totally unfounded’.

It seems like there will be no end to the Oasis reunion rumours, which have been constantly appearing since the band’s dramatic split in 2009. Liam suggested that he was finally on good terms with his brother Noel, when he tweeted a picture of himself attending a High Flying Birds gig back in March. However, only last week, on Chris Moyles’ new breakfast show on Radio X, Noel said that a reunion would never happen unless he was ‘offered a quarter of a billion pounds‘.

With the High Flying Birds having had a hugely successful 2015 so far, and with more shows to come, it looks like it will be a long wait for Oasis fans!
