Moose Blood have been removed from the UK and European leg of Good Charlotte’s Generation RX tour, less than 24 hours after they were announced as support.

On Monday 24 September, Good Charlotte announced that support on their European tour would come in the form of Boston Manor, and Moose Blood. However, within hours, Good Charlotte were reconsidering their choice, following concerns raised by members of their fan base, and the pop-punk and emo scenes as a whole. A post to Good Charlotte’s official Twitter account clarified that:

‘Listening to our fans whole heartedly and reviewing the situation with care, will make another announcement shortly….’

Within six hours, Good Charlotte had posted another announcement to Twitter:

‘GC fans in EU&UK, we’ve decided to remove Moose Blood from our recently announced tour, scheduled for this Feb. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we feel we have a commitment to keep to ourselves, our fans & our community. Stay tuned for further support announcements soon’

In 2017, Allegations were made against frontman Eddy Brewerton, by Twitter user Zoe Maria who stated that Brewerton stole nude photos from her phone, and shared them with other members of the band.

“Just a friendly reminder for those of you not in the know: Moose Blood vocalist stole nudes off my phone and sent them to band’s Whatsapp group. No I will not shut up about it because it still hasn’t been addressed. I’ll bring it up at every opportunity.”

Moose Blood refute the claims, and released a statement in February of this year:

‘We are aware of an allegation made against us concerning alleged theft of photographs and invasion of privacy. This allegation is entirely false and we strongly refute it. Until now we have resisted giving it any credence by commenting. However, the many repeats on social media have left us no option but to make our position clear.

We are taking legal action. The process to resolve this issue is underway. We do not propose to comment further at this stage.

We’d like to thank all our fans from the bottom of our hearts for your true loyalty & support.

However, these allegations have not gone away, and have cumulated with Good Charlotte’s decision to remove Moose Blood from the tour.

Following Good Charlotte’s announcement, Moose Blood released their own statement, again refuting the claims of theft of personal photographs, and hinting at a hiatus for the band:

The allegations against Brewerton came shortly after original drummer Glenn Harvey was removed from Moose Blood, following allegations of sexual harassment.

Movements withdrew from Moose Blood’s Australian dates in the spring, citing concerns raised by their fans about the behaviour of the headline act.

At the time of writing, there has been no replacement support announced for the European leg of the Generation Rx tour.
