The supergroup known as Dr. Pepper’s Jaded Hearts Club Band – which as well as Muse reportedly features the likes of Jet’s Chris Cester, Nine Inch Nails’ Ilan Rubin, The Zutons’ Sean Payne and Miles Kane of Last of the Shadow Puppets – were joined on stage last night by Sir Paul McCartney at his daughter’s fashion event in Los Angeles.

An intimate Hollywood venue saw the Beatles legend join the band mid-song, which appeared to be an impromptu collaboration, to an understandable hurrah from an A-list audience at the Stella McCartney collection launch. Although the exact lineup unclear, the Muse frontman posted on instagram, quipping ‘Just did Macca with Macca’, and can be seen playing bass with the Beatle during ‘Helter Skelter’.

Having previously performed at a birthday party in November last year, the Beatles tribute band would have been as chuffed as onlookers to see the man himself joining them for songs by the Fab Four, such as ‘I Saw Her Standing There’. The band later smugly posted on Instagram, saying ‘Another Day at the Office @paulmccartney‘, Sir Paul is yet to respond.

Muse have announced several dates later this year and last released an album in 2015.
