Finnish melodeath band Amorphis recently released new music video for ‘Death Of A King’ of last album Under The Red Cloud. The album was published on 4th September via Nuclear Blast and was produced by Jens Borgen, responsible for critically acclaimed works by leading European metal bands such as Opeth, Amon Amarth, Soilwork, Dark Tranquility, Paradise Lost, and many more. Under The Red Cloud peaked at #2 at the Finland’s album chart and #10 in Germany.

‘Death Of A King’ sees the band playing at a dark storehouse with lots of fire burning around them. Composed by keyboardist Santeri Kallio, the track carries Amorphis’s distinctive progressive sound but slightly shifts towards less heavy and more melodic metal, with hints of exotic folklore. Under The Red Cloud is their twelfth studio album since formation in 1990 and sixth with the current line-up: Tomi Joutsen (vocals), Tomi Koivusaari (rhuthm guitar), Esa Holopainen (lead guitar), Santeri Kallio (keyboards), Niclas Etälvuori (bass guitar), Jan Rechberger (drums).

Amorphis are currently touring Europe with 41 dates announced so far, starting at Finland. The band plays Wembley The SSE Arena (London) on 19th December (Saturday) with Nightwish and Arch Enemy, tickets are already on sale.

Under The Red Cloud is out now via Nuclear Blast.
