Dan D’Lion has returned with second single ‘Treading Water’, listen here. After working with artists for years, both on a production and writing level, Dan Bartlett branched out on his own at the tail end of last, staking a claim with a remarkably impactful, self produced debut track ‘Give What You Take’.
Today sees him release a track that further showcases his instantly definitive sound, as ‘Treading Water’ plays on Dan’s distinctive falsetto and remarkable use of melody against crisp production that never lets up in intensity, once again changing the goalposts of what alternative pop can be.
This solo project was born at Dan’s studio in Hoxton. Inspired by Jamiroquai, Tame Impala and N.E.R.D among others, Dan’s twisted, honest song-writing alongside groovy, beat-driven instrumentation create the sound of Dan D’Lion.
Dan has divided his time over the past few years between writing/ producing for artists including Salen, Punctual, Delilah Montagu, Zilo, Feder and working on his initial release. Inspired from his time spent working with artists, writers and producers, both in London and internationally, the music is written, produced and performed in full by Dan.
