Mirroring his movements from 2017 which saw the ‘Blonde’ singer dropping tracks like they’re going out of fashion, Frank Ocean surprised fans early this morning by unveiling his own take on Henri Mancini’s ‘Moon River’. The original, famously sung by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 film ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ is given a classic Frank Ocean makeover, with sparse, melancholic guitars topped with his signature crooning.
Adding to the collection of loosies premiered last year via his Blonded Radio Beats 1 show, the track is the first piece of music we’ve heard from Ocean in 2018. With the unveiling of this mesmerising cover, and the musician hinting in a Tumblr post last November that he’d completed a new album before turning 30 years old, could this be a sign that a full-length Frank Ocean project is on the horizon?
