With previous single ‘Barbiturates’ getting Radio 1 play and overwhelmingly positive reviews, it was difficult to imagine a release from Get Inuit that could top it, but they’ve managed it.
New release ‘All Your Friends’ is like a shot of sherbet hitting your tongue on a rainy Monday morning, until you listen to the lyrics. Despairing of friends who have taken out mortgages to “look the part”, the track is a sniping and bitter jab at how normal life seems to take almost everyone prisoner. With jarring verses and a smoother chorus with vocalist Jamie Glass lamenting that he was “born a child, and it’s terminal“, it’s a fun track and no doubt one that will resonate with people who aren’t looking forward to growing up and the responsibility it brings.
Get Inuit will be headlining Dingwalls in London on the 25th of May, after previously playing a sold out Lexington show.
