Back in December, Julia Holter announced a new album, ‘In The Same Room’; a record that will see her revisit songs from throughout her career and perform them live in the studio.  Previously we’ve heard new versions of 2011’s ‘So Lilies’ and 2013’s ‘Horns Surrounding Me’ from the album, and now Holter has shared another track from the upcoming album, due for release on 31st March.  ‘Silhouette’ was a standout track on 2015’s ‘Have You In My Wilderness’ (itself a standout release from that year) and here Holter and band present the song in a more immediate form, stripping away the gorgeous strings of the album version for a live cut that instead casts the song in an even more intimate light than the album take.

Holter is a superb live act (see our review of her Brighton show from November for further proof of that) and ‘In The Same Room’ looks set to be the best of both worlds, benefiting from the energy of her live shows and the sonic clarity of a studio recording.  Take a listen to ‘Silhouette’ below and preorder the album here.
