Two days ago, mysterious posters were plastered over walls in Los Angeles – they featured a cinematic portrait of Lana Del Rey along with the word ‘LOVE’. And here it is, the latest offering from the ‘gangsta Nancy Sinatra’.
The internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter released ‘LOVE’ last night and, even in the shadow of an earlier leak, has already seen die hard fans breaking down on Twitter and a climb to number 12 in the iTunes chart.

This is her first track since 2015’s Honeymoon and it’s a soothing, dreamy love song. It’s also a different direction for Lana, replacing the bluesy melancholy and lovelorn jazz elements we’ve become accustomed to, for something more subtly sweet.
‘LOVE’ features the work of Lana’s long-time producer and collaborator Rick Nowels, along with producers Benny Blanco (Katy Perry, Rihanna, Ed Sheeran) and Emile Haynie (Father John Misty, Sampha). They’ve all had a hand in the new album, which is set to include some special guest feature artists, and will be released later this year.
