LCMDF consists of sisters Emma and Mia Kemppainen. Their journey started in Le Corps Mince De Françoise in 2007, pouring the pains and heartache of their teenage brains into music, paving the way for something never-seen-before in the Finnish music scene. Known for their raw electro-pop bangers, unapologetic attitude and electric live-shows, LCMDF stand at the forefront of groundbreaking electro pop. Since then, they have toured the world, signed body parts, had all the local wine in France and sung karaoke in Tokyo. Battle-hardened by touring and their artistic lives and after 10 years in Berlin, they both returned to their hometown of Helsinki to write the album had been carrying in them the whole time.
Their emphatic take on electro pop has not only taken them across the globe, but has always been well received by music fans and tastemakers alike, seeing support from the likes of The Line of Best Fit and DIY among many more. The response was also echoed by the consistently high streaming numbers, seeing placements across numerous coveted Spotify curated playlists including “Wake Up Happy”, “Hot New Dance” and multiple “New Music Friday” playlists across the world.
LCMDF today shares Waterfalls, ahead of their gig at the infamous Lexington in London on the 15th October.
Speaking of Waterfalls, the girls say,
“Waterfalls is about the growing pains of generation Y. You want to feel that you matter in a world that that doesn’t care. It’s about the longing for a community.”
Throughout the album there’s an effortlessly distinct swagger fused with iconic flavours of electro pop through the ages that get sharpened up with contemporary production. Released on September 21st, Sad Bangers collates every dimension of their battle-hardened and poised vision and is set to propel them into the electro pop stratosphere.
