Indie-folk newcomer Marek Kubala has revealed the first track from his debut EP ‘Awhile’, fusing progressive electronics with lush acoustic instrumentals to curate his own unique sound.
‘Tableturn’ is the second track from Marek’s EP, and is dressed in soaring strings and delicate vocal accompaniments. The finger-plucked guitar is a subtle addition and unveils the singer-songwriter’s intricate musical ability, allowing the heartfelt lyricism to take centre stage.
“And if you try to break my mind,
Can you hear me call now?
If you lie, take my time
Can I call you mine?”
The Huddersfield native began his musical journey playing the folk and acoustic nights around the North of England. During his studies in Liverpool, he was introduced to a vibrant house and techno scene. His debut EP effortlessly integrates the two worlds, combining the retro 60s/70s-influenced psychedelia of indie music with the droning hypnotism of electronica.
‘Tableturn’ is a strong first release from the musician – hear it first below.
