New York-based four-piece Zula have today announced details of their forthcoming album. “This Hopeful” is set to land on the 29th October 2013, on Inflated Records (already a firm favorite of mine after delivering the incredible Speedy Ortiz LP earlier this year).

Zula are fronted by cousins Henry and Nate Terepka and first developed through countless family jam sessions during the holidays. With a lineup now rounded out by Mike Lawless (bass) and Pablo Eluchans (drums), the band takes inspiration from 90’s UK indie-dance, krautrock, and funk. The excellent “Twin Loss”is below for your delectation and hopefully a sign of things to come from the LP

The band also have a series of live dates coming up. All US based and are at the following venues…

9/17 – Shea Stadium
9/19 – Milkboy (Philly)
9/20 – The Crown (Baltimore)
9/21 – The Lot (D.C.)
9/22 – Brillobox (Pittsburgh)
9/23 – The MakeSpace (Harrisburg)
9/27 – House show (Boston)
