After Troy Sanders (Mastodon, Gone Is Gone) stated in an interview with Rolling Stone that Queens of the Stone Age were releasing an album in 2017, the band have taken to their Instagram page to share four images from the studio, where they’re supposedly recording a new album.

The first image shows a snippet of the possible tracklist, with the words “head”, “un-” & “what” clearly visible.

The other images show some of the gear the band is using (yes, it all looks vintage, as standard), including a blurry image of an amp (Queens of the Tone Age? No?) and one of Josh Homme’s guitars. The lyric “All my confusion is waving goodbye” is inscribed on the guitar, taken from Them Crooked Vultures track “Hwy1”. Could the relevance of this post allude to a possible studio version of the track, with Homme covering his own side project and rebranding it under QOTSA? We shall see.

The band’s last record, “…Like Clockwork” was released to critical acclaim in 2013.
