The Libertines may be in the middle of a very successful comeback, but Pete Doherty could be releasing a new solo album before the end of 2016.

The reports come from Exclaim.ca who say that the frontman’s second solo album will be called ‘Flags of the Old Regime’ and will be released in autumn, with a single to be released as early as spring. Interestingly, ‘Flags of the Old Regime’ is the name of the song Doherty released last year for the Amy Winehouse foundation.

The album will be a follow up to his debut solo album ‘Grace/Wastelands’, which was released in 2009 to mostly positive reviews.

It is also thought that Doherty will be releasing a split single with PJ Harvey guitarist James Johnston for Record Store Day, which will feature a new recording of ‘The Whole World Is Our Playground’, a song that previously featured on Babyshambles sessions.
