Sufjan Stevens will soundtrack the upcoming drama Call Me By Your Name. This is the first time Stevens has created original songs for a feature-length film and marks his first effort since 2015’s magnificent ‘Carrie & Lowell’. In 2007, for his mixed medium artistic exploration ‘The BQE’, the singer-songwriter wrote and directed a short film for which he composed a live soundtrack.

Call Me By Your Name is a gay love story directed by Luca Guadagnino based on Andre Aciman’s novel of the same name. Set in 1983 in Northen Italy, the film stars Armie Hammer and Timothy Chalamet.

Call Me By Your Name will premiere at Sundance on January 22nd. No global release date has yet been announced, but Sony Pictures Classics has already acquired the worldwide rights.
