Tommy Newport is an 18-year old singer, songwriter and record producer born in Manchester, England. Tommy relocated to the USA with his family when he was 6 years old. From there he bounced around living in Dallas and Seattle before finally settling down in Wichita, Kansas.

Today, Tommy Newport puts all his skills on display with the stunning release of his debut album Just To Be Ironic. “This record was the most fun I’ve had making music, it’s the first time I’ve had people really look over it and help the creative side on it and it was great to step out of that box. It took me to many new places I’ve never been before and tested me in many ways In which I have grown from,” shares Tommy. Support for Tommy has been strong since the start, with co-signs, by BadBadNotGood, Giles Peterson, Sticky Fingers, rotation on Best Of The Week by Apple Music, featured in HBO’s hit TV show Ballers, and industry tastemakers alike. Tommy, independently released the album “So Long And Thanks” (under the name Milmine) in 2017, with absolutely no promotion or marketing behind the project, the album’s lead single “Altered State of Mind” has eclipsed over 1 million streams across YouTube, Spotify & Apple Music.

The 13-track album is a personal diary from Tommy, lyrically he’s honest and raw, remarking, “The theme of Irony plays a big role in this project. I speak and write about things I normally wouldn’t want to talk to anyone about… Some of the stuff I write about on these tracks are things that are specifically ironic to me. Like the line, “do you love me be honest or is just to be ironic,” is used to describe how the relationships I’ve been in have made me feel more ironic than anything in the end. You start out so confident but in the end, you’re like a pilot that’s afraid of heights.”

The album was co-produced by the Toronto-based producer, 4th Pyramid, he shares “Working with Tommy on this album was an amazing experience. His pure talent shined through on every occasion and pushed me to explore new techniques and sounds I normally wouldn’t use. His voice cuts through records in a way that instantly resonates with listeners and his guitar and instrumentation skills are indicative of an old soul whose honed his craft well beyond his age.”

Tommy has the heart and soul of a true musician. Tommy has not only perfected the art of songwriting but has learned how to play every instrument & record himself as well in the process. Having released his first single “I Forgive You”, a funk soaked ballad that takes listeners deeper into Tommy’s idyllic world, the buzz began to spread. With years beyond his age in craftsmanship, Tommy is moving forward in full force into 2019 with the announcement of his own headlining tour across North America.
