Ben Marwood will headline a Club Velocity show in his hometown of Reading, Berkshire this Saturday.
The folk-rock singer-songwriter, described by reading promoters as a ‘living local legend’ will play a headline show at the Rising Sun Arts centre, as part of their monthly Club Velocity night. This month’s show, ‘In Malcolm we Trust’ is an annual celebration oflocal gig enthusiast Malcolm Unwin.

A contemporary of Frank Turner, whom he has toured with, Marwood released his first album, ‘Outside There’s A Curse’ in 2011. His second album, ‘Back Down’ was released in 2013, accompanied by a headline UK tour.
Following a four year break, Marwood will release his third album, ‘Get Found’ on April 7th, with a series of UK tour dates in April.
Marwood will be joined by support acts Pete Hefferan, former vocalist and guitarist of Reading indie-rock act Pete and the Pirates, ‘anti-folk beard greatness’ Ben Gosling, and Maltese act Jordan Apap.
Club Velocity, described as ‘Readings leading band night’ takes place on the fourth Friday of every month, and showcases the best of local talent, as well as some acts from further afield. Bloc Party, Elle Milano and Beans on Toast are among the many acts who have played a set at Club Velocity.
