Jean-Sylvain Le Gouic and Thibaut Doray will be playing tracks from their excellent 2013 album (including new track “Fantasy”, a busy, bustling keyboard-heavy mix with a sense of restrained flamboyance (their description…not mine). After teaming up with fellow Kitsune alumni Yuksek, the two musicians from Rennes are delivering a cultivated take on pop idealism, mixing their penchant for eighties British synthpop with the equally elegant and ethereal voice of Jean-Sylvain. Sad even when they’re at their most sprightly.
After releasing their debut single on hip label du-jour Kitsune, their path looks set to conquer dancefloors worldwide.
Daft Punk only reached 1985 with their recent LP, Juveniles are have gone all the way back to 1980.
