South London’s Mellah has announced a string of new live dates across Europe, including a headline show at London’s Oslo. Having wowed audiences at festivals this summer including Bestival, Visions and All Points East, the new run of shows dates includes appearances at Bristol’s Simple Things Festival and Hamburg’s Reeperbahn Festival.
In addition to the live dates, Mellah has also shared two full band live session videos, filmed by Yala! Sessions. The two tracks filmed are the expansive ‘Greeney Blue’, taken from his 2017 EP Liminality and latest single ‘Numb’, taken from recently released EP Middle England. Yala! Records is a label and club night started by Felix White of The Maccabees and has put out releases from The Magic Gang, YAK, Whenyoung and more.
Watch Yala! Sessions:
Middle England is an impassioned mission statement from the self-taught multi-instrumentalist Mellah, aka Liam Ramsden. Both politically and socially conscious, the songs on Middle England evoke shades of the rich history of British musical storytelling, but with vital, current themes that asks questions about his generations place in society right now. The EP was recorded in a self-built studio in Peckham, with co-production on the EP from Oli Barton-Wood and James Ford.
Middle England is available now via Columbia Records.
