Slipknot have revealed plans for a four-date UK arena tour which kicks off at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena on the 8th February next year. The masked rock impresario’s will then move on to perform further shows in London, Birmingham and Leeds.
Speaking of the tour, frontman Corey Taylor said “Any time we get the chance to come over to the UK, it’s awesome. Hopefully the fans have as much fun as we do. We’ll be putting together a great set for them, and as we fill out the bill with bands, we hope the excitement gets even bigger.”
Slipknot’s most recent album, ‘.5 The Grey Chapter’ was released in 2014 but it was recently revealed by guitarist Jim Root that he has already been writing songs for their next album and it’s hoped that they will head into the studio very soon.
In the meantime, Corey Taylor is set to appear in an episode of Doctor Who in which the singer will voice the role of The Fisher King. The episode will air as part of the shows current series and the character is described as an “alien warlord”.
Tickets for the tour go on sale on Friday the 9th October and the dates in full are:
