UK RnB/rap artist and Ross County professional footballer Liam Fontaine releases his debut single Life Lessons on Friday on all streaming/download platforms, and GigSoup has the exclusive premiere of it here today.
The self-penned new song features the athlete turning his hand to music and revealing a smooth croon, dextrous rapping skills and talent for anthemic choruses. If you’re a fan of Example, Tinchy Stryder or Eminem this is well worth checking out –
“Life Lessons is a song I wrote when I was going through some difficult issues both on and off the pitch following a long-term injury,” explains the rapper, singer, guitarist and sportsman. “It was during this time I came to the realisation that you can learn from everything that comes your way in life, no matter what aspect. In every situation there is a lesson to be learnt – no matter how painful or beautiful.”
With a varied and celebrated career at Fulham, Bristol City, Kilmarnock and Hibernian, Fontaine wanted to branch out and stretch his musical muscles outside of football. Influence by Drake, Stormzy and guitar bands like Oasis, Life Lessons offers plenty of evidence that if or when he hangs up his boots there’s another more creative path he’s able and ready to explore.
