There is enough combination of grit and authenticity to this record that resembles the nostalgic sounds of Bush for everyone to enjoy whilst being introduced to this enticing new chapter

Closing the first night of Woodstock ’99 with a high-energy set Bush proved from the very beginning, they were excellent crowd pleasers. Going on to sell almost 20 million records in the US and Canada alone, and having five alternative-rock chart topping hits they were a force to be reckoned with.

Written, recorded and mixed by front-man Gavin Rossdale ‘ Black And White Rainbows’ is the first album since ‘ Man On The Run’ released in 2014.

The first track we are introduced to is new single ‘ Mad Love’.  The song has an uplifting chorus and is filled with a commanding and cathartic feeling. The track will have its television debut next weekend on The Voice UK where Rossdale is currently serving as a coach.

As it progresses, the album covers all areas from love to political issues.  ‘Lost In You’ is a beautiful song full of vulnerability that engages you into the mind of a broken heart. Unrequited love is expressed  in ‘ The Beat Of Your Heart’ as Rossdale sings ‘She was a wild one, a bright life in neon, everybody loves you‘ consequently evoking human infatuation with people you don’t have the opportunity to be connected with.

‘People At War’ is a triumph written in honor of World Refugee Day. A powerful exploration of what people are tragically facing in their homeland. Through heart renching vocals Rossdale brings the album to a close with the hopeful message that ‘every ending is a start’.

When recently asked about the new music, Rossdale describes the album as a rebirth.  “It’s a new journey. I didn’t want to have anything that was negative — I didn’t have anything negative to say.” Old school fans may be drawn to the raw sounds from’ Sixteen Stone’ and ‘Razorblade Suitcase’, however there is enough combination of grit and authenticity to this record that resembles the nostalgic sounds of Bush for everyone to enjoy whilst being introduced to this enticing new chapter.

You can catch Bush out on the road, starting with a show at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on March 14th.
