Moving In Slow Motion? Quite the opposite, in fact! The four-brother band, originally from Edinburgh, kick-start their passionate yet powerful third EP release, just months after their first (Wake Up In a Dream), with ‘Scarlet Cardigan’, by juxtaposing such a title with fast bass beats and electrifying guitars.

Interestingly, this song is also seen to portray the contrast, relatable to many, of the sweet, pretty girl in the ‘scarlet cardigan’, and the ‘late night hooligan’, whom she holds an undying love-fuelled hold over, as his struggle to be near her deepens.

Leading into the second track ‘100 Degrees’, the pace is taken up a notch, or several, with a far more upbeat tone maintaining constant effect throughout. This song, the EP, and even band of brothers itself, suggest a tone of such previous musical genius as ‘Arctic Monkeys’ and ‘The Kooks’ which can be felt heavily through the brilliance in harmony between drums, electric guitars and vocals especially.

‘Step Of Your Shoes’ (literally) takes a step back with a somewhat slower yet far more meaningful pace, that gets your feet tapping, very cleverly titled I might add, with a beat and lyrics that will be sure to get you hooked.

As the EP concludes with the EP-titled song ‘Moving In Slow Motion’ this light-hearted listen shows the band leaving listeners with a catchy chorus playing in their heads and a joyous experience within their hearts.

After their first EP release earlier this year, it is clear these four young lads do not mess around, seemingly heading to a direction of greater things to come. Watch this space!
